Guy help!!!!!!! badly!!!!! please!!!!?

ok. there is this guy that i really like. i used to be really bad at talking ot guys, i am getting better, so we talk sometimes in cl. i want to do more than talk. i want to hang out, or dance with him at the dance, or go out. there is this other popular girl(i am one of the popular grls to) who he talks to, texts, IMs, and goes out to lunch with along with his other friends. i have his number and sreen name, and he doesnt know. i wanna IM and text him sooo badly, but i dont know how. how should i let him know i want to hang out more without feeling like a fool??? please help!!!!
