My 2 year old has had a bloody nose for a week?

My son was just diagnosed with a sinus infection which caused his eyes to be black and blue looking and a double ear infection. I also noticed he does not have a drippy nose even though doc says he is seriously congested, When a hard boogy ends up comming out there is blood with it, it never gushes just when i wipe his nose do i notice blood, maybe once or twice a day. Is this common? Doc doesn't seem concerned.
