Best way to get rid of pacifier?

I will not tell anyone how old my baby was when he got off of his pacifier, lol.... However, he used to hear the garbage man come to get the garbage and look out the window to watch them. One day he started taking the paci out of his mouth and throwing it, so I told him if he did not stop I would give it to the garbage man. Needless to say, he did not stop throwing it so one night when he went to bed I took his paci and got rid of it. When he awoke the next day and wanted his paci, I told him the garbage man had it. Luckily he has never asked for it again......thank God because he is now 12 years old....hahahahhahha...Good luck
