Malaysians, get a new pport or renew?

My current pport is with my parents and they won't let me use it to travel even though I'm 19 and using my own money to fund the entire trip. My pport is only going to expire in 2012, and I don't want to wait that long to travel. Can I go and cancel this pport and ask for a new one? I'm willing to pay. Or is there a way, any way to just renew it? Please advice.
